Claude Code

Schedule social posts from Claude Code

The announcement is the last step of a release and it is the one that gets skipped, because it means leaving the terminal. One command adds Ravenpost as an MCP server and Claude Code can write the post from the diff it just shipped and schedule it — on Instagram, TikTok, X, Telegram, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube and Pinterest.

It is the same server, from the command line

Nothing here is a different product from the Claude connector — same endpoint, same tools, same account. What changes is that the thing asking has your repository in its context, so "post about what we just shipped" is a question it can actually answer.

One command

  1. Connect your accounts once

Sign in to Ravenpost in a browser and connect the accounts you publish to. Free plan, no card.

  2. Add the server

Add it with no credential at all: the first call answers with a sign-in challenge, and `/mcp` inside Claude Code walks you through it.

Add the server, then sign in
claude mcp add --transport http ravenpost https://api.ravenpo.st/mcp

    claude mcp list
  3. Or use a token, for CI

A headless box cannot run a browser sign-in. Mint a personal access token in dashboard settings and pass it as a bearer header instead — it is scoped to one workspace and revocable from the same page.

    With a token
claude mcp add --transport http ravenpost https://api.ravenpo.st/mcp \
      --header "Authorization: Bearer rvp_your_token_here"
  4. Ask it to post

From the repo you just tagged: describe what shipped and where it should go. It drafts, previews and schedules without leaving the terminal.

What to ask Claude Code

Written the way somebody would actually type them, with what each one ends up doing.

  • Read the changelog entry for this release and draft an X thread and a LinkedIn post about it. Show me both first.

Uses the repository it already has open as the source, then renders each destination before creating anything.

  • Schedule those for 9am tomorrow in my workspace timezone.

One post, two destinations, each with its own caption and its own publish status.

  • Add the screenshot at ./docs/hero.png and crop it for X and LinkedIn.

Uploads the file and cuts it to each network’s canvas, cropping on the subject rather than the middle.

  • Put the next three of these in the posting queue instead of picking times.

Takes the next free slot in the workspace’s weekly schedule, so a batch spreads itself out.

What it still cannot do

The things you would otherwise find out on day two.

  • It is still a scheduler: no inbox, no replies, no image generation. What Claude Code adds is that the caption can be written from something it can read — a diff, a changelog, a test run.
  • A token acts as the person who minted it. On a CI box, mint one in a workspace with only the accounts that job should reach, and revoke it from dashboard settings the day the job stops needing it.
  • The OAuth sign-in needs a browser once. Anything genuinely headless takes the token route above.
  • Deleting a published post through us removes our copy; Instagram, Threads, TikTok and YouTube expose no delete endpoint, so those stay up until you remove them in the app.

Everywhere it can publish

One post, any combination of 9 networks, each with its own caption and its own preview.

Claude Code questions

How do I add it to Claude Code?

One line: `claude mcp add --transport http ravenpost https://api.ravenpo.st/mcp`. The first call answers with a sign-in challenge; `/mcp` inside Claude Code completes it. For a machine with no browser, pass a personal access token as an `Authorization: Bearer` header instead.

Can I use it in CI?

Yes, with a token rather than the sign-in. The token carries one workspace and is revocable, so scope it to a workspace holding only the accounts that pipeline should be able to reach.

Is this different from the Claude connector?

Only in how you add it. Same endpoint, same tools, same account — a post scheduled from the terminal shows up on the same calendar as one scheduled from the app.

Does it work with Cursor, Windsurf or my own agent?

Yes. The endpoint speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and is stateless, so any compliant client works — a client that implements MCP authorization needs only the URL and discovers the rest.

What does it cost?

Nothing to start. The MCP server is on the free plan, which covers one connected account and ten posts a month.
