A custom app in Gemini, and Gemini asks first
Gemini's Connected apps page takes any public MCP server as a custom app: it registers itself with Ravenpost, you sign in, and the app answers to @Ravenpost in a chat. Before a tool that writes, Gemini asks — Allow once, Always allow or Don't allow. It answers in text: the interactive post card other assistants draw does not render for a custom app in Gemini.

Open Connected apps
In Gemini on the web, open the Connected apps page (gemini.google.com/customize/connectors) and choose + Custom. Name it Ravenpost and paste the URL below.

Gemini asks you to acknowledge what a custom app can do — tick the box — and then opens Ravenpost's sign-in. Approve it, and Ravenpost appears under Custom apps with its name and icon.

What to ask Gemini
Written the way somebody would actually type them, with what each one ends up doing.

Reads each workspace with its role and timezone, and the accounts in it — the first thing to ask, since it proves the sign-in worked.
“@Ravenpost check this LinkedIn post for problems before saving anything: “We just shipped dark mode.””
Runs the preview, which writes nothing and reports the character count and any warnings for each destination.

Gemini shows its permission card first — Allow once, Always allow or Don’t allow — and saves the draft only after you allow it. Don’t allow leaves everything as it was.

Reads followers and the engagement recorded against recent posts. A number a network does not report comes back as unknown, never as zero.
What it still cannot do

- Custom apps are Google’s feature, and which accounts get + Custom is Google’s call; a Google Workspace account may first need its organization’s Gemini terms accepted.
- The interactive post preview other assistants draw does not render for a custom app in Gemini. It answers from the text instead, warnings included.
- Posting now waits for you. A post meant to go out now, or within 15 minutes, is saved and held until you confirm it in Ravenpost, from the link Gemini passes on.
- It cannot read or reply to comments or DMs, and deleting a published post removes Ravenpost’s copy only — on Instagram, Threads, TikTok and YouTube Ravenpost cannot take one down at all.

Can Gemini post to Instagram?
Not on its own. Added as a custom app, Ravenpost gives it the tools, and posts go out through each platform's official publishing API.
Where is the Connected apps page?
At gemini.google.com/customize/connectors, in Gemini on the web. + Custom adds an app by its MCP URL; Ravenpost registers itself there, so there is no client id to fill in.
Does Gemini ask before posting?
Yes. Before a tool that writes, Gemini shows its own permission card, and Ravenpost holds a post meant to go out now until you confirm it in Ravenpost as well.
Is Ravenpost in Gemini’s app catalogue?
Not yet. Google’s catalogue of connected apps is a limited preview, and Ravenpost is on its waitlist; until then, a custom app is the way in.
Is there a Gemini CLI extension?
