Shorts need no separate setting

YouTube classifies a vertical video under three minutes as a Short itself. There is no Shorts API and nothing to opt into — upload the right aspect ratio and it lands as a Short.

A real title, separate from the body

YouTube is the only platform here with a title distinct from the description, so the composer gives it its own field. The description takes up to 5,000 characters.

Worth knowing first

Deleting a Ravenpost post does not take the video off YouTube: deleting a video needs full account-management access to your channel, which we deliberately don’t ask for, so remove it in YouTube Studio. YouTube analytics are not collected yet either — that needs a separate scope we don’t hold. And the privacy you pick is a request: YouTube can answer with something narrower, most often because the API project publishing on your behalf hasn’t passed YouTube’s own compliance audit, which forces every upload from it to private.

YouTube scheduling questions

Can I schedule YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Upload a vertical video under three minutes and YouTube classifies it as a Short automatically — there is no separate Shorts endpoint to target.

Why is my scheduled video private?

Check the visibility you picked in the composer first — it is a per-post choice, and it defaults to public. If you asked for public and YouTube still uploaded it private, that is YouTube overriding the request: it forces every upload from an API project that hasn’t passed its compliance audit to private, whatever was asked for.

Can I schedule a video and an Instagram reel from the same post?
