Comparison

# Ravenpost vs Buffer

Both schedule one post out to many social accounts. This page compares what they cost at the same size and what each one does better — including the parts where Buffer wins.

Buffer's prices and features below were read from their own public pricing page on 2026-08-06. Prices move, so check ours against theirs: [Buffer pricing](https://buffer.com/pricing)

## What you pay for the same number of accounts

Tiers aren't the same size on both products, so lining up “plan 1 vs plan 1” flatters whoever numbered theirs more generously. Instead: the cheapest plan on each product that covers the accounts you actually have.

| Connected accounts | Ravenpost | Buffer | You save |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 5 accounts | $14 | $30 | $16 |
| 15 accounts | $24 | $80 | $56 |
| 50 accounts | $49 | $195 | $146 |

Buffer bills per channel, so the column above is its own published rate at that size: $6 a channel for the first 10, $4 for channels 11–25, $3 for 26–50, on the one-seat Essentials plan. The Team plan, which adds seats and approvals, starts at $12 a channel.

Monthly billing, US dollars. A dash means no plan on that product covers that many accounts.

## Feature by feature

| Feature | Ravenpost | Buffer |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free plan (not a trial) | | 3 channels |
| A different caption per platform | | |
| Per-platform preview before publishing | | |
| Recurring posting queue | | |
| Unlimited posts | Paid plans | Paid plans |
| Analytics included | | 30 days on free |
| MCP server (Claude, ChatGPT) | | |
| Public API | | 1–5 keys by plan |
| Link in bio | | Start Page |
| Comment & message inbox | | Comments |
| Approval workflow | | Team plan |
| Team seats | | Team plan only |
| AI content generation | | AI Assistant |
| Image editor | Crop & reformat | |

A dash means Buffer's pricing page doesn't mention that feature — it isn't a claim that they lack it. An amber check means partial support.

## Where Buffer is stronger

- A free plan that never expires — 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts on each.
- Pinterest, Google Business Profile and Mastodon: three networks we do not publish to.
- Cheaper below three channels, since you pay $6 for one where our smallest paid plan is $14 for five.
- Replying to comments is built in on every plan, free included. We do not do engagement at all.
- An AI assistant, an ideas board and a hashtag manager, none of which we have.

## Where Ravenpost is stronger

- Flat pricing. Fifteen accounts is $24 here and $80 on Buffer, because we never bill per channel.
- Unlimited seats at $49. Buffer includes one user on Free and Essentials; more means the Team plan at double the per-channel rate.
- Telegram channels, which are not on Buffer’s channel list.
- A rendered preview per destination before you publish, instead of one composer for all of them.
- Full analytics history on the free plan; Buffer’s free plan keeps 30 days.

## Platforms Ravenpost publishes to

Every platform below is a finished integration, not a roadmap item. If you need a network we don't list, Buffer may well be the better choice.

- Instagram
- TikTok
- X
- Telegram
- Facebook
- LinkedIn
- Threads
- Bluesky
- YouTube

## Questions people ask

Is Ravenpost cheaper than Buffer?

For 15 connected accounts, yes: $24/mo against $80/mo on Buffer's cheapest plan that covers that many. At other sizes the gap changes — the table above prices three of them.

Is there a free plan?

Both do. Ravenpost's is one connected account and ten posts a month, no card, and it doesn't expire. Buffer offers a free plan of 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Compare the caps rather than the word “free”.

How do I move from Buffer?

Reconnect your accounts through Ravenpost's OAuth flow — a few clicks each — and rebuild your posting schedule in Settings. There's no import tool: your existing scheduled posts stay where they are and publish from there, so run both until that queue drains.
